Would You Like to be Disabled

Someone once asked, “Joni, if you could go back, would you choose life in a wheelchair?”

Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. Someone once asked, “Joni, if you could go back, would you choose life in a wheelchair?” Now, I know God has taught me much through my wheelchair, but would I go back and decide, yes, I choose quadriplegia? It would be foolish to not want to use your hands. Who, in his right mind, would choose blindness instead of sight? Yet there are people who decide exactly that. They deliberately determine to be disabled. Jesus even talked about such people in Matthew chapter 13. He said to this group of people, “You will be ever hearing but never understanding; you will be ever seeing but never perceiving. For this people’s heart has become calloused.” Wow, may I never choose to be spiritually disabled. Join me today in choosing not to be paralyzed by indifference, or blind to His ways, or deaf to His commands. Don’t choose life away from Jesus.
