Why Do You Complain

Hi! I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. The prophet Isaiah tells us in the 40th chapter, “Lift your eyes and look to the heavens: Who created all these? He who brings out the starry host one by one, and calls them each by name. Because of his great power and mighty strength, not one [of the stars] is missing.” And then in the next verse Isaiah adds, “Why do you complain, O Israel [why do you say] ‘My cause is disregarded by my God.’" Oh friend, how in the world could you think God pays no attention to you when, oh my goodness, all you have to do is look up and see His hand sustaining the stars and planets?! If He’s holding the entire universe together, you can bet He’s holding you. And remember, the people of Isaiah’s day did not even know about all those galaxies out there—but we sure do. So, be amazed, and do not fret. If God can uphold trillions of stars, he can take care of you.
