Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. Jordan had waited a long time to be baptized. Well, as long as his eight years could contain. The pastor stood behind him in the baptismal, his hands resting on Jordan’s shoulders, explaining to the congregation what Jordan was about to do. All the while the boy was fidgeting. The moment had come and he could barely contain his excitement. The pastor began, “I baptize you in the name of the Father, and the Son and the…” But right then, Jordan could wait no longer. He plunged himself beneath the water. And the church burst into laughter. When Jordan came up out of the water, he was smiling and lifting his arms in celebration.  That little boy reminds me of Acts chapter 22, verse 16 where it says, “What are you waiting for? Get up and be baptized.” Have you identified with Christ in baptism? I hope so. And if not… what are you waiting for?
