Tearing down Strongholds

Hi, I'm Joni Eareckson Tada. For many years, I would daydream about being on my feet … I’d lie in bed and immerse myself in fantasies of me walking, running or riding my horse. I’d daydream so many times that I just couldn’t break free of them. You see when fantasies begin to take over they become powerful strongholds in your mind. And that is when you need a verse like Second Corinthians chapter 4, because when it comes to dismantling things that have a stranglehold on your mind, Christ is the only one who can give you the divine power to “demolish strongholds… and take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.” Friend, it is possible. You really can make your thoughts submit and yield to Christ. It may take some time, and it will be a struggle, but by the grace of God, that high tower of daydreams can come tumbling down.
