To Suffer God's Will

Sitting in this wheelchair, suffering can sometimes make me feel small and shriveled.

Hi I'm Joni Eareckson Tada.Sitting in this wheelchair, suffering can sometimes make me feel small and shriveled. It's why I love being reminded of the big picture; suffering's grand purpose. A saint of old did this well when he once wrote, "To do and suffer God’s will is still the most beautiful of Christian achievements.  To have your bright aspirations forever blasted; to bear a daily burden and see no relief... to be fettered by some incurable physical disability; to be stripped bare of loved ones until you stand alone —and to be able to say in such a school of discipline, “shall I not drink the cup which my Father has given me?”—this is faith at its crowning moment. Great faith is exhibited not so much in ability to do… as to suffer, and suffer graciously." That's something to remember if a trial comes your way today.
