Rest for Elijah

Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada and I like the way the Bible tells stories of real people. Consider the prophet Elijah in First Kings. He became overwhelmed by the many tasks God gave him; it all was just too much for him, and so he decided to throw in the towel. Elijah literally wanted to die. "I have had enough, Lord," he said. "Take my life…." Thankfully, God knew the emotional limits of this prophet. And He knows yours, too. Sure enough, as the angel of the Lord refreshed Elijah with rest, cool water and good food, the Lord longs to touch your life and set you back up on your feet. And he does it through the people He places around you. They represent God to you… people who wipe away your tears, restore your soul; hang out with you, be a friend, give you loving arms, support. So, if Elijah was able to turn the corner and get back on track, thanks to God, because friends, you can, too. Please visit us today at
