Reconciliation

Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. Recently as I was reading Colossians, I stopped where Paul says: “My fellow prisoner sends you his greetings, as does Mark…” I saw that and thought, you know many years earlier, back in Acts 15, Mark had been the center of a sharp dispute between Paul and Barnabas. Paul thought Mark couldn’t be trusted, and they went their separate ways. But now, years later, Paul was in prison, and his friendship with Mark had somehow been wondrously restored! The story did not end with division between Paul and Mark. We don’t know who reached out to whom, but you’ve gotta know that God loves reconciliation! Especially between two followers of Jesus. Forgiveness and reconciliation is a powerful metaphor for how Christ has reconciled us sinners to himself. So, friend, is there someone you need to reconcile with? Oh friend, today, why don’t you take the first step. Love always takes the initiative.
