Prepare for Thanksgiving

This is Joni Eareckson Tada and the other day my friend Judy came into my office to borrow $10. I was busy at my computer and so I absentmindedly told her to get it out of my wallet. She rummaged around behind me, and when I heard my purse snap shut, I automatically said, “Thank you!” Judy gave me the strangest look. That’s when I realized, Why am I thanking her? She should be thanking me. I guess I'm just programmed to say thank you… so many people minister to me, thank you just comes automatically. Oh, were it only that way with the Lord! Psalm 136 tells us to “Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good.” Friend, God is so good to us, if only our gratitude were automatic! Today, may giving thanks to God come second nature for you… and may it come from the heart.
