Prayer - The Portal to Peace

Prayer is always the portal to peace. Like when God told Jacob to pack up and head home to Canaan.

Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada reminding you that prayer is always the portal to peace. Like when God told Jacob to pack up and head home to Canaan. As Jacob approached his homeland, he learned that his brother Esau – the one Jacob stole his birthright from – was heading his way with 400 men. Genesis records that Jacob was “in great distress and fear…” But then, he prayed, “Lord, you said to me, ‘Return to your own land and to your relatives.’ And you promised me, ‘I will treat you kindly.’ I am not worthy of all the unfailing love you have shown me … so Lord, please rescue me.” Jacob responded just the way God instructs us to respond in Philippians chapter 4. He says pray, be thankful and tell God what you need. That’s what Jacob did and as always, God was faithful to His promise.  So, take a hint from Jacob. Pray, be thankful, and today tell God what you need.
