Praise Him With Every Part

Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada and I have a very special affection for Psalm 103. It says, “Bless the Lord, O my soul, and all that is within me, bless his holy name!” You see, when I bless the Lord in prayer, sometimes I have to force all the lazy, tired parts of me to join in with my soul. After decades of quadriplegia, my bones are tired. But even when I’m struggling, I bear down and pray, "Bless the Lord, oh my soul, and all that is within me, bless his holy name, and forget not all His benefits." Because I know from experience that physical hardship can cloud our confidence about God's benefits. So next time your muscles ache, your head throbs with a migraine, or your feet cramp, force these body parts that are aching, tired and weary to join your soul in praising God. Command every part of you to stand at attention and to come into alignment. Because you’re blessing the Lord!
