Practical Help

Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. Linda is blessed with six children, two with disabilities. Amy, her four-year-old, has autism and because Amy does not recognize dangerous situations, Linda has to keep a close watch on her. One day, while Amy was napping, Linda went to check on her. And to her horror, Amy was gone.  Searching everywhere, they finally found her daughter at a nearby park, safe and sound.  But the thought of what might have happened, haunted Linda. With five other children to look after, keeping Amy safe was not easy. A service dog would help but it would be too expensive. So, Linda asked her church, along with Joni and Friends, for help. And between neighbors and friends, and folks from the congregation, finally Amy got her canine companion — a dog trained to alert Linda when her daughter started to wander. Practical help is just a request away. Find out more at joniandfriends.org.
