Portrait of Jesus

When I finish a painting, sometimes the toughest thing is selecting a good frame.

I’m Joni Eareckson Tada.  When I finish a painting, sometimes the toughest thing is selecting a good frame.  The kind of wood, the color of the mat, the style ‑‑ whether it's a plain or ornate frame.  A good frame will always enhance what the painting is all about.  It won’t detract from the painting; it will add to it, highlighting the best qualities.  In a way, my disability... for that matter, your appearance and limitations... these things are a frame around what God is creating in our character.  Like any good artist, God wants to express Himself through us, painting a portrait of Jesus in us.  And the frame He's picked out is just right.  It’s your physical appearance, your smile, your eyes and your body... even my disability.  So relax and trust that the frame He's picked out for you best fits what He's painting in your life.  And when it's all done... Jesus will look great through you.
