Plow Unbroken Ground

Back on our farm in Maryland, we plow our fields every year at springtime.

Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. Back on our farm in Maryland, we plow our fields every year at springtime. Funny thing about fields— if you leave them untended, a field will naturally grow weeds, thorns, and thistles. And it is the exact same thing in life. Don’t be thinking that left to yourself, something good will just naturally spring out of your heart. We have to cultivate your life with spiritual disciplines of prayer and study of God's Word. Hosea chapter 10 says, “Sow for yourselves righteousness, reap the fruit of unfailing love, and break up your unplowed ground; for it is time to seek the Lord.” Wow, I love that! I know I’ve got some areas in my life that I’ve left untended … and weeds have been growing! So come on, friend, join me and plow the soil of your heart, turnover that hard, dry cracked ground; sow for yourself righteousness, and get something good growing in your life!
