Old Memories

Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. The other day I was wheeling through a mall and heard a song that was a favorite of mine back in school. But I wish I could forget it. My boyfriend had broken up with me... I was absolutely miserable back then... And that song brought back feelings of shame for the way I squandered my youth, flirted and got into trouble. Thankfully, I came to Christ that year, and what a difference Jesus has made! But the devil is a sneaky and has a great memory for past sins. It’s his specialty to keep accusing us, making us feel shame and guilt. Ps 25:7 says, “Remember not the sins of my youth and my rebellious ways; according to your love remember me, for you are good, O LORD.” As you turn away from the sins of your youth... God does the same. Resist the accuser of the brethren and he’ll flee.
