My High School Reunion

I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. And recently I attended my 50th high school reunion. It was heartwarming to be with all my old school friends. Considering my diving accident was only a few weeks after graduation, my former classmates remember me well. Seeing those faces from long ago made me think about how I’m closer to heaven now than I am to old high school days. But that isn’t the case for many at my reunion. All evening long, I kept thinking of that Bible verse, “Let the redeemed of the Lord say so.” And with that in mind, in every conversation at the reunion, I was quick to say how grateful I am to Jesus for my good health. As I left that night, I prayed for each classmate, and followed up with notes to keep the conversation going. Why? Because I want to see those friends at a different reunion… the heavenly reunion. And I bet you feel the same. So today, friend, speak of Christ. Let the redeemed of the Lord say so.
