Make the Most of Every Opportunity

Hi, I'm Joni and I have a precious story about my little friend, Tyler. Tyler was only 9 years old when he went in for surgery on his arm that had been invaded by cancer. Rather than being wheeled in a gurney, Tyler chose to walk to the operating room. And he didn’t just walk, he gave a victory march—raising his bad arm high up in the air and pumping his biceps in and out. Later in the prep room, Tyler told his dad, “I just wanted to get as much use of my arm as I could in case they have to cut it off.” Oh, my goodness! … Tyler eventually lost his battle to cancer, but that boy made the best of even the worst of times. Ephesians chapter 5 tells us to “make the most of every opportunity.” Are you using what you have—those talents and abilities, your trials and hardships—and making the most out of it? Friend, you may not have a tomorrow, but you can make the most of your today.
