Remember the story in Luke chapter 17 when the ten lepers loudly cried out to Jesus, “Have mercy on us?”

Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. Remember the story in Luke chapter 17 when the ten lepers loudly cried out to Jesus, “Have mercy on us?” They really raised their voices! And here’s what’s interesting. When Jesus did heal them, one man – only one — came back to thank Jesus. And scripture says he thanked God in a loud voice. I mean, a pump-your-fist-in-the-air and happily say out loud, “Thank you Jesus!” The healed man even fell on his face at Jesus’ feet to give thanks. That’s pretty special of that one leper. He may have stridently cried out with the rest, “Have mercy, help me Jesus!” But when the Lord did heal him, he made certain to match his gratitude with the intensity of his request. When is the last time that you thanked the Lord with joyful abandon? When we ask for things, let’s make certain that we thank — and loudly thank — God when He gives answers!
