Life is Hard

Hi, this is Joni Eareckson Tada. I remember the time a visitor came to one of our Family Retreats. When he arrived, he was overwhelmed, seeing so many children with very severe disabilities: kids in wheelchairs, on crutches … kids who were blind, deaf. To him, God was the one who was supposed to make life easier, not harder! But Scripture tells us otherwise. You see in 1 Thessalonians chapter 3 the apostle Paul writes, “We sent Timothy … to strengthen and encourage you in your faith, so that no one would be unsettled by these trials. For you know quite well that we were destined for them.” Wow! Friend, we are destined for trials. In other words, life is supposed to be difficult, God wired it that way. But take heart, because amidst your trials, God will send Timothies your way to strengthen and encourage you. Life is hard, yes, but in Christ … there is hope.
