Sometimes God saves us from terrible tragedy by a fraction of an inch.

Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. Sometimes God saves us from terrible tragedy by a fraction of an inch. Still, whether it’s by a fraction or by 50 yards, we are saved. That’s pretty much the way it was in Mark chapter 4 for the disciples who were in the boat when a storm began to blow. Fear seized them. They did not think Jesus cared because he was sleeping in the back of the boat. When Jesus awoke and rebuked the storm, he asked the disciples, "Why are you so afraid?" I think they were scared because they did not like getting saved in the nick of time. They would’ve preferred a cushion of more time, thank you. It would’ve been safer. But would it have been? God’s timing is up to him. And sometimes he will wait until the last minute, the last second before he rescues. It’s all that we might trust him no matter how narrow the escape. Because if you are a disciple, Jesus will save.
