Let Your Life Overflow

I was reading Psalm 23 the other day and put on the brakes when I read those three familiar words: "My cup overflows."

I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. I was reading Psalm 23 the other day and put on the brakes when I read those three familiar words: "My cup overflows." What in the world does that mean? Because when something overflows we usually think of waste: water that overflows a dam rushes out to sea, coffee that overflows the cup stains the carpet. But what about a life that overflows with the joy and love of God?  Does it all go down the drain? No way! Romans 15 says, "May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” Today, let God’s love pour out of you in all directions, like a stream; many streams of encouragement refreshing the thirsty lives of everyone around you! If you want to touch the weary lives of others, let God fill you with His joy and peace. And then, friend, let your cup overflow.
