I wonder if you struggle with anxiety – you fall apart if your dog dies...

Hi, I'm Joni Eareckson Tada and I wonder if you struggle with anxiety – you fall apart if your dog dies, your truck breaks down, or you don’t think you can pay the bills.  Well, it should comfort you to know that even the apostle Paul struggled with anxiety.  Look at what he writes in Philippians chapter 2, starting with verse 28.  He’s talking about Epaphroditus, his fellow worker, and to the church in Philippi, he writes, “Therefore I am all the more eager to send him, so that when you see him again you may be glad and I may have less anxiety.”  Paul dealt with anxiety?!  Well, you got the proof right there.  Which is why a couple of chapters later Paul gives us his own prescription for dealing with anxiety.  “Be anxious for nothing,” he says, “and with prayers and supplications let your requests be made known to God.”  What to do for anxiety?  Pray.  And God's peace will be yours.
