Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. Some days, I arrive at the office with a list of things in my head that I want to tackle right away: I pull up to my desk, say an obligatory prayer, and quickly dive right in. Ten minutes into whatever I'm doing, it hits me: There I am, making on-the-fly decisions and off-the-cuff choices without checking in with God. I've raced ahead of him, totally disregarding Galatians chapter 5 where it says: "…keep in step with the Spirit." God wants us to abide by His rhythm for the day, so that we might hear his whispers of counsel before we make a snap judgment. We get it all wrong when we set the pace. But when you keep in step with his Spirit, you won't get ahead of things, or miss out on any important details of his plan for your day. Don’t let your agenda or to-do list set the pace for your life. Keep in step with the spirit and let God set the pace.
