I'm Dying to Know

Have you ever noticed how often we say we’re dying to do this… or that… we’re dying to know ...

Hi, this is Joni Eareckson Tada, and have you ever noticed how often we say we’re dying to do this… or that… we’re dying to know if so-and-so is getting married… or we say, “I'll just die if he finds this out.” We throw that word around so much… it is an exaggeration. We’re not really willing to kick the bucket in order to meet someone or go somewhere or find out about a neighbor’s problems. But it’s no exaggeration when the Bible commands us to die to sin. That’s what the apostle Paul was thinking when he wrote, “I want to become like Christ in his death.” Paul really was dying to know Christ. It meant putting to death any sin which might keep him from intimacy with the Savior. Friend, are you just dying to know Jesus? Put off sin and you’ll be alive to God. And that’s no exaggeration.
