When Hurricane Harvey hit Texas, hundreds of disabled people were carried from their homes...

Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. When Hurricane Harvey hit Texas, hundreds of disabled people were carried from their homes, leaving wheelchairs and walkers behind. One of those was a 10-year-old boy named Carlos whose wheelchair was ruined by sewage water that overflowed into their house. Carlos’ mother called the insurance, but was told they’d have to wait almost a year before Carlos could get a new chair. Thankfully, though, they heard about our Wheels for the World ministry. Now, normally we only deliver wheelchairs overseas, but in a national emergency, we do all we can to help. In fact, when Carlos was placed in his new wheelchair from Wheels for the World, his mom started crying: this new chair was even better than the one he lost in the flood! Like Psalm 46 says, God is our refuge — an ever-present help in trouble. Visit joniandfriends.org to learn more about Wheels for the World.
