Forgiving God

With so much suffering in the world, some Christians say we ought to forgive God when awful things happen.

Hi, this is Joni Eareckson Tada. When I battled cancer and learned I had to take chemotherapy, doctors inserted a catheter port in my chest. And I used to dread getting it flushed. You see, it’s situated high enough on my chest so I'm able to feel the needle when they plunge it in. And a port needle is a big needle! But when I saw a woman next to me not flinch at that big needle, well, I felt inspired to do the same and not be afraid. It’s the old lesson: courage breeds courage.  God has commanded you to “Be strong and courageous. Do not tremble or be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go." God knows that when we are brave, we influence others to be brave.  And He knows that when we act cowardly, it influences others to do the same. Friend, we’ve got a command, so today, choose to be strong, to be brave. And choose, to share that courage with others.
