Encouraging Michael

Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. And recently I talked with Michael, a quadriplegic who had been diagnosed with end-stage cancer. Doctors told him he had a 0% survival rate. This man and I knew his days were short, so we discussed how he could wisely use his remaining time for God's glory. Second Peter chapter 3 says a day with the Lord is like a thousand years. So I said, to Michael, “Friend, if a day is worth a thousand years of eternity, then think of all the many eternal investments you can make in a 24-hour slice of time. Blessing your family, friends, and caregivers—such ministry would surely resound to—I don’t know—at least, 759 years worth of eternal benefit to them and glory to God!” And you know what? Michael decided to live out his days exactly that way—thanking and loving and blessing those around him. Today, think of ways you can invest in eternity with your gift of 24 hours.
