Bob was recently shot in a hunting accident that left him paralyzed from the neck down.

Hi, I'm Joni Eareckson Tada and my friend Bob was recently shot in a hunting accident that left him paralyzed from the neck down. It's been so hard on him and his family. He realized he just had to get beyond it, and so Bob asked me how I've learned to cope with my wheelchair. I told him I didn’t cope. He gave me a funny look, and I explained that coping, resigning myself or submitting to my wheelchair just doesn’t take me very far. God wants me to embrace His will. Romans 12 says His will for me is good. What good comes of life in a wheelchair? As I told Bob, it drives me to depend on God. That’s why I can embrace my hardships. That’s good enough for me and Bob. If you know someone like Bob who needs this kind of encouragement, visit us at joniandfriends.org.
