Drink Enough Water

A few years back, my friend Bev and her family went hiking to the bottom of the Grand Canyon.

Hi, this is Joni Eareckson Tada.  A few years back, my friend Bev and her family went hiking to the bottom of the Grand Canyon.  Everyone made sure to stop during the hike, get out their canteens and drink water, but Bev?  Oh no, she wasn’t thirsty; she didn’t want to waste time drink when she didn’t need it.  Besides, there weren’t any restrooms nearby.  Well, Bev’s insistence to drink water later and get ahead, by the end of the day left her at the end of the line!  And you know what, the same exact thing is true for you and I as believers in Jesus.  To find grace in time of need, we all need to drink in God's Word at regular intervals.  It’s not enough to take a swig of Bible reading now and then, hoping it’ll sustain you when tough times hit.  Jesus, the Living Water (as it says of Him in John chapter 4) is offering you a drink today.  Don't put him off.  Drink now from the wellspring of life!
