Hi I'm Joni Eareckson Tada and an interviewer asked me the other day, “But what if a person feels he is behind some huge boulder that he can’t get over, or under, or around. He feels his feet are in quicksand, and everything is hopeless. How do you help him?” I answered simply, “I do him a great good if I simply tell him he can get out from behind that boulder; by the grace of God, he can move beyond the quicksand. To tell him anything less does him a disservice. In Christ we are more than conquerors. Remember this today, friend, if you feel stuck. Because as Amy Carmichael said, “What the Lord expects from us when we feel hopeless is not to abandon ourselves to unreasoning sorrow, but look sorrow in the face, to scan its features, to search for the help and hope, which, as surely as God is our Father, must be there.” Yep, it’s the pathway to being more than a conqueror.
