I am convinced, when it comes to hardships, attitudes make all the difference.

Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada and I am convinced, when it comes to hardships, attitudes make all the difference. I’m thinking of Janis who has multiple sclerosis. Although at one point Janis’ husband was able to take care for her, he now lives with arthritis and chronic pain. It’s why she and her husband made the decision for Janis to move into a long-term care facility. Janice told me with a chuckle, “Joni, I just pretend that I’m in an all-inclusive resort with servants taking care of my every need 24/7.” This woman makes the best of what many would consider ‘a dead-end existence.’ Janis does what I Peter chapter 5 says: she casts all her anxieties on Christ, knowing he cares for her—yes, even if it is in a residential care facility. Friend, if you or someone you know is in need of information about long-term care, visit our Help and Resources page at joniandfriends.org.
