Someone asked me the other day about my definition for personal success.

Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. Someone asked me the other day about my definition for personal success. I thought for a moment, and then I remembered the mission statement I wrote for my life many years ago after I became paralyzed. I wrote down this: “I want to be God's best audio-visual aid of how His power shows up best in weakness.” So, for me, success is understanding God's purpose for your life, and then, getting actively engaged with the Holy Spirit to live out that purpose every single day. Psalm 37 tells you to commit your way to the Lord and He will make your righteousness shine like the noonday sun. What’s God's purpose for your life? It’s to reflect Jesus in whatever circumstance you’re in, whether you’re a wife, a student, a prisoner, or a husband. Live out that purpose, friend. As you do, you become the person God intended you to be all along. And that is success.
