Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. One of the highlights of our Family Retreats is the Family Celebration Night, usually the last evening at camp. It always ends with a kicky, upbeat song of praise that gets us folks in our wheelchairs out on the floor, wheelin’ and swingin’ to the music. It’s so much fun! And we can rejoice because Isaiah chapter 35 promises, “Your God will come … Then will the lame leap like deer and the voiceless ones will shout for joy.” But you don’t have to be in a wheelchair to enjoy the idea of God coming back. You can kick up your heels, too, because that promise is for you. So strengthen your feeble hands and steady your shaky knees. Put on your heavenly dancing shoes, because soon our God is going to come and together we will leap for joy. Discover some of that joy next summer by volunteering at a Family Retreat. Just visit joniandfriends.org to learn all about it.
