Hi, I'm Joni Eareckson Tada and we’ve probably all compared ourselves, at one time or another, to someone “better” than us ... paper thin women on magazines, your friend with the high paying job … but what about someone you think is more “spiritual” than you? You look at them, and don't you sometimes feel—well, intimidated by them? But listen to Matthew chapter 7. It says, “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.” Friend, it’s not about what you have or don’t have. That’s not what impresses God. It’s the one who quietly perseveres and does the everyday will of the Father who will enter the kingdom. It’s simple and it’s humble. So today, stop comparing yourself to others and just do the will of your Father. Because the only person you need to be more like is Jesus.
