My friend Beth who is disabled recently got to serve at one of our Retreats

Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. And my friend Beth who is disabled recently got to serve at one of our Retreats for special-needs families as part of her internship with Joni and Friends. There, Beth met Sarah, a woman with several birth anomalies that affect her speech and stature. Since this was Sarah’s 20th time attending Family Retreat, she was quick to introduce Beth to everyone, and in the process, would pause to pray with everybody. Beth was amazed at Sara’s upfront manner not only with people, but in prayer. Beth told me, “As a person with disabilities, I often struggle with fears of what others think of me. But Sarah taught me a lesson through First John chapter 4, where it says, ‘There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out all fear.’” Friend, fear is vanished when your heart is set on Jesus; so be courageous and join us at our next Family Retreat. Just visit us at joniandfriends.org to learn all the details.
