Being Intentional

Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada, and nowadays in our crazy, busy world, we have to be downright intentional about connecting with God. For instance, my day starts when my friends arrive to help me with my morning get-up routine. It’s a flurry of activity involving toileting, bed bath, range of motion exercises, strapping on my corset, and much more. It would be easy to rush through it all, but right before I sit up in my wheelchair, we all stop. While I’m still lying flat in bed, we take time to connect with God. We pray for the day, for our husbands and our friends with needs. And that intentional pause makes all the difference. If we are not intentional about creating such moments, our busyness makes us forget the Lord. So Jesus says in Matthew chapter 11, “Are you tired? Worn out? Then come to Me. Get away with Me and you will recover your life.” That’s great advice for your busy day.
