Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. The other day, as I was sitting near a grove of oak trees, I watched a stiff breeze roll around some acorns. Next to such gigantic oak trees, with heavy branches and big leaves, those little acorns seemed insignificant. It made me think of First Corinthians chapter 15. It says, “The splendor of the heavenly bodies is one kind, and the splendor of the earthly bodies is another.” It’s a scripture about the resurrection—that day when I (a little acorn as I am) will receive a heavenly body (something grand and glorious and as splendorous as a gigantic oak tree).  Just like a little acorn has within it the pattern, as it were, of a huge tree – the Joni that expresses itself in my earthly body will be the same Joni in my heavenly glorified body. In the meantime? I'm happy to be the best acorn in God's kingdom that I can possibly be… and delighting in the splendor that is to come.
