A still from an animated film.

The other day a friend sent me a link to an animated film titled Ian that is gaining international acclaim. It’s a sweet story about one little boy’s journey to find acceptance on the playground. It was created to build disability awareness in children, but there’s no age limit for this film – and you will love seeing pictures of the real Ian during the credits. The whole film is under ten minutes, and worth every minute, so share it with your Facebook friends!

In these last few days of 2018, Ken and I are almost finished reading the book of Revelation as part of our plan to read through the Bible chronologically. Even though this is our 11th year of reading, we never tire of going through the biblical story of redemption. Plus, there are always new...

Ken and I recently saw my radiologist and learned everything we need to know about radiation. Because my cancer is fast-growing, we have chosen to radiate a larger area beyond the tumor site. After reviewing different therapy options, we decided on...

Most kids today only hear the word “manger” around Christmas time. But my family raised horses back in Maryland and from the time I was a little girl, I was very familiar with mangers.  It was part of everyday language when throwing hay to the horses...

Joni in the recording studio

Tomorrow I’ll be wheeling up to the microphone again for another full day of radio recording, and how I rely on your prayers! The last month or so has been full of hard news for me, what with cancer, surgery, the prospects of radiation and more. But it makes me all the more eager to share...

From left to right: Buddy, Joni, and Jeff

At our Joni and Friends' staff Christmas party last week, we were blessed by the wonderful Nashville-talent of Buddy Greene and Jeff Taylor – between these two, they performed on at least 8 different musical instruments, including Buddy's specialty, the harmonica (for fun, Google 'Buddy Greene at...

Well friends, good news is always worth repeating! After my doctor's visit yesterday, I just had to share an update with you, my dear friends and prayer warriors. You have prayed me through some tough times and for that, I thank you! I need it, I appreciate it, and I know I am benefiting from it...

Ken Tada with birthday cake and balloons

Today my husband turns 72, and with each passing year I am more thankful for his sacrificial service. Especially now, as we look toward another round of cancer treatments. He loves me with such a big heart, though I sometimes think this second go ‘round with cancer is much harder on him than it is on me. So, I have an idea – for the best birthday present, would you please stop a moment to ask God to give Ken Tada the strength and stamina to champion me through radiation therapy and more. And then drop him a note to assure him that you’re praying! Join me in wishing Ken a very Happy Birthday!

A Christmas card on a Christmas tree

I like the hit Christmas song “It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year” just as much as anyone, but I know for many, this season can be anything but wonderful. Perhaps you’ve recently lost a loved one, or received a bad medical report, or it can be something as simple as the pressure of...
